# Citing and badges

## Cite

> PublicAI Foundation (2026). PublicAI Index, snapshot YYYY-MM-DD. <https://publicai.io/model-index>

Always give the snapshot date; the table changes daily. A filtered view’s URL is a stable citation of that view.

## Badge

Every model card on the Index shows its badge with ready-to-paste Markdown:

```markdown
[![PublicAI Index](https://publicai.io/model-index/badge?model=claude-fable-5-1)](https://publicai.io/model-index?q=Claude%20Fable%205.1)
```

Add `&scope=domain:Tool use` (or any category or domain) for a vertical. The badge renders the live position — `#1 · 69.1`, `Tool use #18✱ · 59.4`, `provisional` — so it never goes stale; the tooltip carries the snapshot date. ✱ means placed by report figures.

## Terms

Scores belong to their publishers; PublicAI normalizes and weights them. Quote the Index with its date and link, and name the underlying source when quoting a single figure.
